Along with my blog-whining yesterday, I also sent a nice email to our Domino guys asking if the lock-down was done purposefully, and who I should chase up about getting it relaxed. Sure enough with no fuss or bother, anonymous access was opened back up.
I didn't have time to take advantage of it though, because a big chunk of my day was spent visiting another organisation who are doing some interesting work in the geospatial realm. They are already using our data, and are potentially interested in the outcome of the 'shadow' website that we're working on, which should in theory make accessing our much easier for 'wholesale' users. Hopefully we may be able to learn a fair bit from them in terms of geospatial too, as there's a lot of interest in it from our senior management.
